What is an Accredited Dentist?
Although San Diego is one of the largest cities in the U.S., only a handful of dentists in the area, and even across the country, are accredited by the American Academy of Cosmetic Dentistry. And Dr. James D. Salazar here at Mission Trails Dentistry is one of them.
AACD accreditation signifies that a dentist has achieved an extraordinary level of extra training and testing to perform a number of cosmetic dentistry procedures. The AACD bestows accreditation on dentists whom they believe are devoted to continuing education, carefully follow American Academy of Cosmetic Dentistry protocols of care, and have demonstrated a commitment to providing exceptional dentistry.
The AACD says its accreditation process is the most recognized advanced credentialing program in the world. To achieve accreditation, dentists must take an extensive written examination, spend five years working toward the ultimate goal of accreditation, pursue further courses in dentistry and dental techniques, submit clinical cases, and finally, take an oral examination. Once everything has been completed and passed, the dentist is awarded with accreditation by the American Academy of Cosmetic Dentistry, a symbol of excellence in his or her field that is given to very few cosmetic dentists nationwide.
Dr. James Salazar is proud to have achieved AACD accreditation, helping him to provide the best possible results for procedures such as porcelain dental veneers, teeth whitening, smile design, and much more.
